I took these on the iPhone and edited them in the Best Camera app a couple of days ago. We’re actually having a decent fall here in Lincoln, meaning our early cold snaps haven’t literally froze the leaves off the trees while they’re still green.

Every morning, I battle with Hershey, as he always thinks he has to go outside for a little bit. Even if its below freezing. So, I let him out. Then, I shut the door.

I came to realize I never posted the few pictures I took of the Lincoln Zombie Walk that happened two weeks ago. So, here they are.

A little background on this, for those not in the know. For the past few years now, Nebraska Independent Film Projects has put on a Zombie walk, in which people get dressed up as zombies and march through downtown Lincoln. This year marked their biggest turnout for the event (they actually needed a parade permit), as they practically doubled last year with over 650 ex-people in attendance. They even have a Zombie Ball afterwords where people dance & grunt like a Williams sisters tennis match in slow motion.

I was down there to check it out for the first time and to support a friend who really gets into this kind of thing. So much in fact, she was nominated for best makeup (that’s her in the second photo). There was also a lot of themed groups, thus the two dressed up as Mario & Luigi. There was a couple girls there dressed up as the girls from Silent Hill, who were excellent. There was even a zombie Jesus that offended some, and gleefully so.

Really, I’m not sure what I was more entertained with; the makeup jobs themselves or the 40 & 50-somethings walking out of whatever eating establishment they just finished with in their nice clothes going, “What… in… the… hell…”.
